You will serve as a Traffic Management Specialist in the Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SIGONELLA. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Major duties

You will assist in policy/procedures formulation, quality assurance, certifications, reporting, and operational analysis review. You will examine and compare entry forms, invoices, entry permits, bills of lading, manifests and accompanying papers to ensure that all required documents are present and correct. You will review and interpret policy guidance on use of Customs Declaration forms. You will analyze all methods of cargo characteristics, determines special handling requirements, required priority, and required delivery dates. You will work with senior traffic management specialist to develop, coordinate, evaluate operations and ensure implementation and compliance with guidelines and procedures related to the movement of hazardous material.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying transportation policies, principles, and practices pertaining to the functional integration of DoD custom clearance procedures and; 2) Experienced in current initiatives and programs of the Defense Transportation System (DTS), U.S. transportation regulatory agencies and the functions, capabilities and utilization of the U.S. Transportation Command and its constituent components, the Air Mobility Command (AMC), the Military Sealift Command (MSC) and the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) and; 3) Planning experience in transportation functions at the unit field level to provide an economic analysis, operational oversight and staff reporting functions necessary to ensure the success of this function.
