Major duties

You will perform work in support of qualification, pre-production, lot acceptance, surveillance testing, experimentation, and malfunction investigations. You will gather required equipment, tooling, and materials and perform necessary explosive and non-explosive assembly tasks. You will work with scientists, engineers, and program sponsors to determine appropriate storage and disposal configurations for novel energetic materials. You will coordinate explosive inventory management logistics (including packaging for shipment, transportation, disposal, etc.) in support of various Research, Development, Test and Evaluation programs. You will prepare and test energetics in order to make basic adjustments to test plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when needed. You will adhere to command's explosive and OSH safety programs in order to reduce risk of hazardous situations (e.g., high temperatures, loud noises, chemicals, high voltage electricity, machine tools and equipment, etc.). You will utilize computer systems in support of energetic testing to calibrate, repair, replace/modify/upgrade existing equipment, acquisition design and construction of equipment and instrumentation, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.

Qualification

For NT-04: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 pay band (GS-9/10 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing test planning, data analysis, cost estimation, or documentation review; conducting non-routine testing; or maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment in high-hazard environments. For NT-03: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-02 pay band (GS-5/6/7/8 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Supporting energetic materials testing, including safe handling, storage, or basic assembly of explosive components.
