You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SHIP PROGRESSMAN (GENERAL) in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, ELECTRICAL DIVISION - 950 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Major duties
You will plan the use of subordinate workers’ equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month- to month basis. You will establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences; and plan work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors. You will coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. You will determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. You will determine how many assignments can be accomplished concurrently, which ones may be delayed; consider skills, personnel, materials, and equipment available and required to complete projects. You will participate with superiors in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work. You will assign work to subordinate employees, provide indirect oversight of trade workers (military and/or civilian personnel). You will plan and establish leave schedules and determine training needs/provisions for the accomplishment of training of employees.
