Job summary

Serves as the Supervisory IT Specialist (PLCYPLN/DATASCIENTIST) in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) HQ location. The primary purpose of this position is to manage information resources, business relationships, and information technology (IT) programs in support of DeCA's business mission and goals. Major duties

This position is located in the Operations and Infrastructure Support Directorate, Information Technology Group, Enterprise Data Services Division. The incumbent is involved in a wide range of IT management activities that extend and apply to the entire Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) organization. This includes strategic planning, Risk Management Framework (RMF), policy and standards development, resource management, knowledge management, auditing, and information security management. Depending on the scope and nature of the special projects, the incumbent would work directly with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for certain projects. Read the entire job announcement. Qualification

In accordance with the Individual Occupational Requirements, https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/2200/information-technology-it-management-series-2210-alternative, applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level (or equivalent) by the closing date of this announcement. This experience may have been gained in the private or military sector. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of cyber secure IT services throughout an organization. Providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT system specific cyber security and RMF issues, process challenges, and timeline progress. Applying interrelationships of multiple IT specialties, IT/ system architecture supporting RMF, new IT developments and applications, emerging technologies and their applications to cyber security processes, IT security concepts, standards and methods and project management principles, methods, and practices. Developing plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements, defining milestones and deliverables, monitoring activities, and evaluating and reporting on accomplishments. Developing and implementing workable approaches to IT RMF documentation, secure cyber practices, IT-related process and policy initiatives. You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date: Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA. Education

Foreign education may be qualifying if a private organization specializing in interpreting foreign education programs has deemed the foreign education equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program or a U.S. accredited college or university has given full credit for the foreign courses. Unofficial transcripts from U.S. Department of Education accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions listing your name, the name of the school, the date and degree awarded, and the list of classes and credits earned are acceptable for the application process. Evaluations
