Job summary
You will serve as the Infrastructure Operations Branch Head in the ACIO/Information Technology Division, Corporate Operations Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-6 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.
Major duties
You will lead the strategic planning and management of IT infrastructure operations within NSWC Dahlgren Division, ensuring the efficient and effective utilization of resources to support mission-critical functions. You will oversee the engineering, design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage systems, and data centers. You will provide strong leadership and direction to the infrastructure operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will ensure the reliable and secure operation of infrastructure systems and services, including automation, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing proactive measures to prevent downtime and mitigate risks. You will engage with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and other departmental units to understand their infrastructure needs and priorities. You will manage budgetary resources effectively to support infrastructure operations and maintenance activities. You will develop and enforce policies, procedures, and guidelines related to infrastructure operations in alignment with departmental policies, federal regulations, and industry standards. You will ensure compliance with security protocols, data privacy regulations, and IT governance frameworks to protect sensitive information and maintain the integrity of infrastructure systems. You will liaison with senior NAVSEA representatives, NWIC, DISA, HPC, and multiple customers across NSWCDD.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-05 pay band (GS-13/14 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying Information Technology knowledge towards the planning, designing, configuring, or managing of IT infrastructure or architecture (e.g. networks, servers, storage systems, data centers). Examples of qualifying experience may include: Providing management oversight of an organization's information technology infrastructure or systems to ensure that strategic information technology policies and plans are aligned with business requirements. Applying knowledge of DoD/DoN RDT&E networks, labs, and principles (e.g., DREN, RDTE, SDREN, JMN, and JIOR). Applying knowledge of US Navy Combat and Weapon System of Systems (e.g., AEGIS, SSDS, MK160, and SPY). Applying knowledge of DoD, DON and NAVSEA mission and organizational structure.
