Job summary

Major duties
Plans and administers sports programs, conducts clinics, and acts as official referee and/or coach as well as train staff and volunteers to act as officials for sporting events and intramural sports (Variety) and competitive aquatics programming. Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory. Performs front desk daily tasks and operations as necessary. Assists patrons in use of the facility by checking out equipment, providing safety instruction and rules for sporting events and tournaments, demonstrating new equipment, etc. Assists management in plans, conducting, publicizing and arranging support for sporting events, social activities, tournaments and related functions. Performs proper cleaning procedures on sports and fitness equipment, maintains athletic fields, and maintains a healthy and clean facility.
Qualification
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Demonstrated experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports. This experience may have been gained managing or administering a sports program in a community, industrial activity, or secondary school or college planning, teaching or evaluating a physical education curriculum for secondary or higher academic levels; or managing, umpiring, or officiating at amateur or professional athletic events, competitions, or games. Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level. An undergraduate degree in physical education may be fully qualifying for this position. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": 1. Minimum one year experience in planning and executing sports programs that include a variety of individual and team sports, educating and developing skills needed for participation in sport activities, and officiating a variety of amateur and/or professional athletic events/tournaments. Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. All others may be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred list.
Education
Education maybe substituted for experience. An undergraduate degree in physical education may be fully qualifying for this position.
