About U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command
Tooele Army Depot (TEAD) is an US Army Military Installation located approximately 45 miles West of Salt Lake City, Utah. TEAD is a premier active joint ammunition storage site. TEAD is responsible for shipping, storing, receiving, inspecting, demilitarization, and maintaining training and war reserve conventional ammunition. Tooele’s Ammunition Equipment and Manufacturing Directorate (AEMD) designs and manufacturers ammunition peculiar equipment (APE) used in maintenance and demilitarization of munitions for all the Department of Defense (DoD). The Depot is in Tooele County and surrounded by the communities of Tooele, Grantsville, Stockton, and Rush Valley. The area surrounding the depot is as an urban center for a highly varied productive industrial and agricultural industries.
Job summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and Major Range and Test Facilities Base, NDAA 1125 (a) and (c). to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Security Guard, GS-0085-06 with the Joint Munitions Command at Tooele Army Depot, Law Enforcement & Security Division.
Major duties
Guard and patrol, on foot or by vehicle, controlled and limited security areas. Protect persons, property, and security information against hazards such as fire, espionage, trespass, theft, and accidental or willful. Ensure buildings are secure and there are no safety or security deficiencies and initiate the proper action to correct problems. Assist local authorities in the event of an emergency situation by setting up roadblocks, investigate accidents, enforce motor vehicle regulations, and direct traffic. Monitor the radio networks, maintain logs of patrol and events happening during shift. Utilize extraordinary security measures and special knowledge and skills to protect arms and ammunition and other materials potentially hazardous to the health and safety of the public.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as one year of experience at the GS- 05 level or equivalent with a federal, state, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved conducting patrols to identify potential hazards to property and facilities such as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; and control the access of personnel and/or vehicles to the installation or facility.
Education
