Major duties

DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works as a Recreation Assistant (Ski Instructor) at the Edelweiss Lodge & Resort (EL&R), Hausberg Lodge instructing groups and individuals in daily and weekly ski and snowboard programs, using a variety of teaching methods to effectively communicate to students who have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Teaches children as well as adults. Teaches all courses using the PSIA American Teaching system. The safety of the students must always be the number one priority. Is responsible for ticket handling for groups of students and must maintain good internal control practices to keep track of these tickets. Assists with program registration, tournaments, equipment issue, ski lift and snow making operations, shuttle driving duties, and cleaning duties. Must be familiar with all programs offered by EL&R, as well as be familiar with the local area as the job requires providing a lot of information to guests. Must always maintain a positive attitude around and towards guests in order to project a positive image for EL&R and it's programs. Report any problems to the Ski School director as soon as possible to maintain a high-quality service to our guests. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification

RESUMES MUST BE TWO PAGES (OR LESS). QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must have one year of post-high school experience in the hospitality industry or one year of post-high school education. Must be an advanced skier or snowboarder with at least one season of documented experience as a ski or snowboard instructor. Certification from a recognized professional instructor organization preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. A good working knowledge of the German language is highly desirable but not mandatory. All Qualified applicants will be rated against the highly qualifying criteria by a rating panel for evaluation of the quality and extent of your total accomplishments, experience and education. Those applicants determined to be highly qualified will be referred to the hiring official for consideration. The highly qualified candidates may undergo an interview and reference checks. All answers to the Highly Qualifying Criteria must be demonstrated in your resume to get credit.

Education
