Job summary
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Hillberg Ski Area on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK. This position is Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Your schedule will depend on needs of the facility. This position is temporary and will end no later than April 30, 2026.
Major duties
Performs and/or assists in operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Types of duties include, but are not limited to, the following: processing cash and credit card transactions; issuing lift tickets for all lifts at Hillberg Ski Area; sell, maintain, and restock inventory items in the pro shop as needed; answering phones and customer questions; receives and resolves customer complaints; provides information and general instruction on the safety and the use of Hillberg rental equipment; issuing rental equipment to include skis, snowboards, boots, poles and helmets; completes customer rental forms; receives returned rental equipment inspecting for damage and/or missing parts; returns rental items back to their proper location in the rental department; performs repairs and waxing of customer owned and Hillberg owned rental equipment; conducts ski binding release tests on Hillberg rental skis; participates in and directs activities and special events; maintains the cleanliness of the Hillberg Lodge; performs other related duties as assigned. Qualification

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Preferred cash handling, computer skills, and customer service experience. Preferred practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which includes recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
