Job summary

About the Position: This Program Manager position is with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, Fort Worth District, with a duty station location of Ft. Worth, TX. This announcement is for current, permanent Army employees that would like to be considered for a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade. Major duties

Responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction of major projects. Responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects. Coordinate the planning, design, cost engineering, construction, and environmental considerations for projects of considerable scope and complexity measured by diversity, geographical area, management demands, and technical intricacy. Serve as the Government's primary point of contact for programs/projects assigned.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE (Must meet 3 of 4) One year of specialized experience which includes working with civil works and military programs and projects 1. Monitoring a project budget and schedule ensuring project commitments are met. AND/OR 2. Assisting with the planning, scope, development, design, construction, and direction of programs and projects. AND/OR 3. Developing cost estimates for utilization in negotiation and/or modification of Architectural-Engineering contracts. AND/OR 4. Reviewing developed designs for construction projects to ensure contract specifications are met. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
