Job summary

YOU WILL SERVE AS A PLANNER AND ESTIMATOR (SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT) IN THE MRO PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT, PRODUCTION LINES DIVISION OFFLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Major duties

You will develop, implement and coordinate aircraft sheet metal repair workload plans, program schedules and configuration control of the aircraft reworked, repaired, modified or converted. You will review established procedures and recommend improved methods to reduce aircraft rework costs and out of service time. You will explain the more technical aspects of the work and may instruct, demonstrate or help with especially difficult or unusual tasks. You will review timeliness and status of work being accomplished to balance workloads and resources among work units and meet established deadlines. You will observe work in progress to ensure on time completion and verifies the quality going into the product and inspects work to ensure that standards for quality and quantity are met. You will prepare command correspondence, production and status reports for higher management and other commands and activities.
