Job summary

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. Major duties

What to Expect Perform support services via home visits and classroom settings designed to provide psychological and educational support to parents of children ages zero to five to include education in: positive parenting skills, promoting healthy pregnancy, promoting positive parent-child attachment behaviors, recognizing newborn infant cues/behaviors, and promoting effective couple communication in order to promote healthy relationships and prevent family violence. Provide information and education on services and resources available. Refer parents to appropriate military and civilian agencies for assistance and support for: assessment of at-risk behaviors, enhancing the parents' role in parenting a newborn/child, role modeling and mentoring, and any medical concerns. Plan, develop, and implement programming designed to build and enhance strengths that individuals and families bring to the parenting role to enhance parent-child attachment. Conduct standardized screenings and assessments of families receiving services and collaborates with related agencies to offer appropriate and necessary services. Expected to travel to complete work assignments, primarily home visits, and conduct or attend training, conferences and meetings. May work a fluctuating work schedule to complete work assignments outside of the typical work week and work hours (to include weekends as necessary). This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20lbs may be required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification

What are we looking for? A master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, or an equivalent degree approved by a state regulatory board, AND shall have a current, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice social work or marriage and family therapy or Licensed Professional Counselor, independently. OR A registered nurse, or of higher credentialing, with at least a bachelor's degree in nursing AND shall have a current unrestricted license in one of the states or U.S. territories. Have at least 2 years of direct experience in the prevention, intervention, or treatment of child abuse or domestic abuse, provision of maternal or child health support services, or mental health. Knowledge of the military organizational mission, lifestyle, and situation that contributes to family stress, problems, and crisis situations. Familiarity with and skill to follow Department of Defense (DoD) Instructions, Secretary of the Navy Instructions, Marine Corps Orders, federal and state human services laws and procedures. Skill to develop and maintain contacts to establish effective relationships with military leaders, civilian employees and managers, and professional points of contact in the related field to exchange information, coordinate services, discuss program problems, develop solutions, and resolve client problems. Possess a valid driver's license to conduct home visits.
