Major duties

You will conceive and implement new initiatives and projects to strengthen, facilitate, and integrate programs. You will lead special projects, ongoing analysis, investigations and initiatives that have high priority. You will use initiative and resourcefulness in interpreting guidelines for complicated and unprecedented issues. You will develop and maintain the organizational or system-level cybersecurity programs that includes cybersecurity architecture, requirements, objectives and policies, cybersecurity personnel and cybersecurity processes and procedures. You will maintain a repository for all organizational or system-level cybersecurity-related documentation. You will schedule and conduct special security studies, analyses, surveys, and/or reviews of IT systems to assure appropriate levels of safeguards exist to protect against perceived threats. You will drive to remote sites for equipment pick-up, delivery, as well as systems set-up and maintenance. You will be an expert in security, design, development, testing, checkout, certification, lifecycle maintenance and readiness of multiple systems and equipment involving new concepts and new and varied requirements problem You will serve as the Information Assurance and Technology Section Head overseeing a team of 22 IT professionals, Chief Information Officer (CIO), and one of two onsite Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM)

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the Federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT services. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Developing and implementing programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Communicating and collaborating with the Command ISSM (CISSM) and Command Security Manager in areas of mutual interest and impact. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Assessing security events to determine impact and implementing corrective actions. In addition to the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (NO-04) or grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of systems, networks, operating systems and system architecture; 2) Knowledge of information systems security principles, controls and related disciplines; 3) Knowledge of computer security technologies, objectives, problems and solutions; 4) Ability to serve as subject matter expert within the Industrial Security community; AND 5) Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
