Major duties
Serves as a technical authority and senior project leader for network interface in installing, maintaining, modifying, and testing operating systems and/or all associated network software products. Manages complex troubleshooting efforts, coordinating with cross-functional IT teams and vendors to resolve critical issues quickly and effectively. Ensure operational standards are met. Provides ongoing senior level support, resolution of problems, and recovery of operating malfunctions involving various hardware components and software failures. Develops and maintains connectivity to other systems to ensure smooth operatin and data flow.

Basic Requirement: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies appropriate to, or above, the level of this position. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the Basic Competency Requirements listed above, one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-12 in the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as experience safeguarding our infrastructure and lead threat mitigation efforts in a dynamic environment. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
