Job summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located with the US Army Forces Command, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Holistic Health and Fitness Performance Team, Fort Polk, Louisiana. This is a Term position Not to Exceed (NTE) 3 Years. It may be extended beyond six years up to 8 years.
Major duties
Supervise the H2F Human Performance Team. Provide education and trainings to various groups regarding human performance and H2F programs. Monitor the program's effectiveness and provide training and technical support to develop, manage, and implement an effective human performance program. Conduct group and individual human performance consultations and oversight to include cardiovascular, strength, power, agility, flexibility, nutrition, and cognitive performance. Conduct research and analysis on human performance. Manage resources, contracting, budget, procurement, facilities, and equipment. Analyze emerging mission requirements and conduct short- and long-term planning. Serve as the program coordinator for the Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program, which includes kinesiology, dietetics and nutrition, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cognitive performance, and strength and conditioning. Evaluate, analyze, research, and implement program policies, guidance, and standard operating procedures.

Basic Requirement for Holistic Health and Fitness Program Director: Degree: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing a human performance enhancement program, developing program policy and procedures, and conducting program training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
