Job summary
You will serve as a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC INSPECTOR in the of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER.
Major duties
You will develop checklists and utilizes them as a guide for the initial, in progress, mechanical and final acceptance checklists that will cover all aspects of the product overhaul and indicate the acceptance or rejection of items and systems. You will perform initial inspections of various products to identify required repairs to maintain, repair, and overhaul the product. You will utilize a variety of procedural guidelines to assist in developing of applicable standards: NAVFAC P-300, Management of Civil Engineering Support Equipment ; P-307, Management of Weight Handling Equipment. You will identify on an initial ML all parts and materials that are required to complete the repairs that were identified during the operational and diagnostic inspection of the product. You will perform in-progress inspection of products during the repair process.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO INSPECT: I have the ability to inspect common tasks under general supervision including 1) Repairing, maintaining, and overhauling complex systems on a wide assortment of heavy mobile/weight handling equipment and specialized equipment and systems in accordance with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic principles; 2) Inspecting heavy equipment to diagnose defects; 3) Using precision measuring instruments for testing or inspecting mechanical systems.
