The mission of the 47th Medical Group at Laughlin Air Force Base is to support the 47th Flying Training Wing’s medical, dental and aeromedical needs in support of Laughlin’s Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training mission. The medical group is responsible for the health care of more than 3,400 Department of Defense (DoD) beneficiaries and ensuring the medical readiness mission for wartime and worldwide contingencies.

About the Position: Work under the general supervision of the Access to Care Manger. Creates templates ensuring the correct mix of appointment types and the appropriate types of patients for the different providers. Ensures all appointment types are defined to aid the appointment clerks and medical clerks in booking the right patient into the appropriate appointment type. Keep supervisor informed of significant events or matters of special interest. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Major duties

Utilize data from established databases in order to monitor, trend, and analyze, objective and objective performance. Assist in the development and implementation of effective patient care systems to achieve practice compliance with prescribed policies. Manage daily operations of the practice, including emergencies, cancellations and no-shows. Implement scheduling processes in accordance with the Military Health System (MHS) policies to maximize provider availability and productivity. Maintain automated appointment schedule for providers within the select specialty clinics. Evaluate work performance of employees and prepare formal performance appraisals.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilize medical office automation software to verify appointment types and time; 2) Implement appointment schedules according to mandated guidance. 3) Provide reports on access to care using medical standards and access-reporting metrics. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
