Job summary
You will serve as a Counseling, Advocacy, and Prevention (CAP) Supervisor in the Fleet and Family Support Department (N9) of NAVAL STA NT RI.
Major duties
You will provide expert-level supervision to professional Counseling, Advocacy, and Prevention (CAP) staff within the Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC). You will organize, set, and manage CAP workflow. You will plan, assign, and provide expert-level supervision to professional CAP staff within the Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC). You will identify gaps in existing services, including assessment and treatment related issues, and in administrative procedures that impact the provision of clinical services. You will complete quarterly quality assurance reports and analyze trends and outcomes.
Qualification
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing all activities related to Counseling, Advocacy, and Prevention (CAP) and services ensuring contract deliverables are within CAP program requirements; 2) Overseeing employee's developmental needs and providing training needs to improve job performance and expectations; 3) Providing expert-level management and oversight of CAP program services, identifying gaps to include assessment and treatment related issues, administrative procedures and provide recommendations for improvement; and 4) Serve as the CAP representative attending and coordinating various meetings and committees to meet membership and training requirements. This position is a TIER THREE clinical care practitioner with clinical supervisor eligibility. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.8: 1. Possess at least a masters or doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines: a. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) or an equivalent degree, OR b. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or an equivalent degree, OR c. Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree, OR d. Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a one-year APA accredited clinical internship 2. State or U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology. 3. When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination, candidates for privileging, must have achieved a passing score on that examination. 4. Must have engaged in two years, full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience AND have two years, full-time clinical experience post independent licensure or certification.
Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess 0101 SUPERVISORY COUSELING, ADVOCACY, AND PREVENTION PROGRAM GENERALIST Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. Or Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Or Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. 0180 SUPERVISORY PSYCHOLOGIST (CAP) Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology. And Satisfactory completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completion in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology is required. 0185 SUPERVISORY SOCIAL WORKER (CAP) Completed a degree in social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Or Completed a master's degree with practicum: Applicants who complete all of the requirements for a master's degree in social work with practicum.
