Major duties
Serves as the Chief of Staff to the Director of the Information and Technology Directorate providing advice and assistance on directing and managing all aspects of the Directorate operations. Oversees the development and revisions of plans, budgets, and other organizational changes. Directs the administration of activities that support and affect all elements of the Directorate, including activities related to the development and execution of strategic goals, policies, and procedures. Initiates, coordinates and oversees extensive research, special studies and assignments where multiple functions may be involved. Coordinates actions, clarifies responsibilities and timelines for completion. Provides recommendations for improving the business practices of the Directorate based upon comprehensive analysis of present operations and organizational structure. Assesses financial management policy and procedures to ensure the Directorate maintains a sound and progressive program that meets Agency goals and objectives. Plans, manages and supervises the assigned area which consists of professional and/or administrative personnel.
Qualification
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-14) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Providing advice on integrating financial management policies, programs and systems for an organization; advising on budget and resource allocation for an organization; defining, establishing and directing complex programs and projects and coordinating feasibility studies; conducting research and providing advice for an organizations' mission, goals, objectives. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement. **This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants.
