Job summary

This position is located at Atkins Functional Fitness Facility but may fill other vacancies at other Fitness Centers in Business Recreation Division. This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resilience and well-being of Soldiers and Families. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will NOT be paid.

Major duties

Assists the Fitness Facility Manager in the overall management and operation of a fitness facility. Assists with the scheduling and outreach of organizational units at the facility. Oversees facility cleanliness contracts and standard operating procedures and conducts classes and walks all facility rooms to provide guidance as appropriate. Assist in the publicizing sports facilities, programs and events by drafting articles for local newspapers and as instructed by supervisor coordinates with marketing for posters, flyers and other promotional material. Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate.

Qualification

A qualified candidate must possess the following: experience carrying out a sports program that included: a variety of individual and team sports; AND guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities, AND teaching the techniques of various sports, AND ability to obtain and maintain the following certifications: PRIOR to Employment: CPR, First Aid, & AED, AND Upon employment: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service, & Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
