SPACEPORT OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN – NIGHT SHIFT
The Spaceport Operations Technician will take ownership of residential units, hotel operations, and social-facing spaces at Starbase during overnight hours. This role serves as the primary point of contact for urgent issues and ensures all areas remain clean, functional, and guest-ready.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations & Guest Experience
- Oversee overnight operations for Starbase residents and traveler hotel accommodations
- Answer guest and resident questions while maintaining knowledge of the Starbase property and services
Hotel & Residential Coordination
- Relocate guests and residents to alternate units when issues cannot be resolved
Facilities & Cleanliness Standards
- Conduct daily inspections of rooms, homes, Airstreams, public areas, and surrounding roads to ensure cleanliness and check-in readiness
- Perform housekeeping functions and maintain high standards of cleanliness across all guest-facing spaces
- Collaborate with Facilities and Housekeeping to escalate and track maintenance needs
Transportation Support
- Manage Tesla staging, approve/deny reservations, and coordinate airport shuttles and LotX routes
- Update driver metrics in PowerBI and support on-site transportation operations as needed
Communication & Reporting
- Monitor and respond to the Starbase living inbox, Tesla reservation inbox, Switch reservations, and Jira tickets
- Monitor the on-call phone and Starbase Neighbors team chat, and handle urgent communications
- Communicate with residents regarding services and changes, and document shift activities through reports and pass-downs
Continuous Improvement & Team Support
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing operational or guest experience enhancements
- Support team training, mentoring, and general operational needs during 3rd shift
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of hospitality, facilities, custodial, or operations experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Demonstrated ability to uphold high standards of cleanliness, functionality, and guest satisfaction
- Effective communicator with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable identifying issues, submitting tickets, and proactively driving solutions
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be available to support overtime and occasional weekend events as needed
- Must be able to work the following night shift: F-M, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Stand: Up to 6 hours per day
- Sit: Up to 6 hours per day
- Push/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
- Overhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day
- Walk: Up to 3 hours per day
- Lift/Carry: Up to 25lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
- Climb (ladder/stairs): Up to 1 hour per day
- Kneel/Crouch: Up to 1 hour per day
- Upper body twist: Up to 1 hour per day
- Ability to work at temperatures over 80 degrees up to 3 hours per day
- Candidate must be capable of safely performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description. Candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment questionnaire and/or physical to confirm these capabilities, which may include a medical history review
