Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer at its Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. This engineering position is for a role on our Systems Engineering Team. In this role you will be supporting radar development and sustainment programs. Our ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, a drive to lead from where you are, collaborative people skills, and the proven ability to work within a technically diverse and fast-paced team. This position is in Warner Robins, GA and requires that you work on-site daily.
Your responsibilities will include:
Support production, repair, sustainment, and testing activities for radar systems.
Radio frequency (RF) design, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for radar systems, to include Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), Line Replaceable Modules (LRMs), and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
Perform Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) Resolution and Design Try-Outs (DTOs) for legacy radar systems.
Provide laboratory support for hardware upgrades, sustainment, and testing.
Maintain and upgrade legacy test stations.
Use RF and Systems Engineering knowledge to develop new requirements, increase capabilities, and modernize legacy radar systems.
**This position may be filled at Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Systems Engineer: Minimum of 5 years of direct relevant experience with B.S. degree; Minimum of 3 years of direct relevant experience with Master’s degree; Minimum of 1 year of direct relevant experience with PhD. B.S, M.S., or PhD must be in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Minimum of 8 years of direct relevant experience with B.S. degree; Minimum of 6 years of direct relevant experience with Master’s degree; Minimum of 4 years of direct relevant experience with PhD. B.S, M.S., or PhD must be in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
Experience working with a team of engineers to accomplish projects and tasks.
Experience in development, sustainment, integration, and testing of radar systems.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware/systems problems.
Experience with lab test equipment such as function generator, oscilloscope, multi-meter, spectrum analyzer, etc.
Must currently hold or be able to maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current DoD Secret level clearance (or higher)
Prior professional experience in radar, or prior professional experience in immediately transferrable domain skills such as digital signal processing, RF system design and sustainment, DMS resolution, CCA design and troubleshooting, etc.
Experience with hardware design, to include cable assemblies, circuit card assemblies, test stations, etc.
Experience in aviation and/or Department of Defense programs.
Experience with RF test equipment and hardware-in-the-loop testing
Experience with developing and/or using LabView.
Experience developing and writing test plans, test reports, and engineering change proposals (ECPs).
