Network Administrator II leads a team in various maintenance evolutions, as well as advises Military and Civilian customers on Post/Camp/Station and enterprise level information technology (IT) solutions when appropriate. The individual defines technical and physical development of the network and assigns various tasks to keep the network running at optimum levels. This position requires advanced knowledge in LAN/WAN troubleshooting. Various management and administrative tasks are also the responsibility of Network Administrator II (NA II).
The position reports directly to the NOC Chief Watch Officer. The NA II assists and supervises subordinate NA’s and NOC subordinate sites, oversees network security checks, troubleshooting network problems, outages, and anomalies as required. The individual will be responsible for reporting all pertinent information about any anomalies on the network and can advise which related work centers or sites should be involved. Responsibilities
- Individuals will be responsible for overseeing maintenance and operations of VoIP phones, switches, wired and wireless routers and encryption devices.
- Monitor availability and reliability of LAN/WAN and Wireless Networks.
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and HAIPE (Encryption devices).
- Ensure outages and corrective actions are reported to the NOC service desk and NOC Watch Officer as well as provide updates and clarification as to concerns with the outages.
- Resolve customer interface/user issues.

- Use Spectrum and other software application tools to manage and administer the network.
- Plan network development and expansion as needed.
- Knowledge of sub-netting, switching and Cisco IOS and training new NA I personnel.
- Enforces network security procedures, to include DISA STIG compliance and best security practice.
- (NOC) Provide advanced technical expertise to internal subordinate work sites, and site level NAs
- (NOC) Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups as required.
- (NOC) Strong understanding of firewall, VoIP and ACL configurations.
- (NOC) Use SolarWinds, Spectrum, GemOne, Chimera, and other software application tools to manage and administer the network.
- (NOC) Provide oversight into designing, configuring and testing network development and expansion as needed.
- Responsible for managing shift schedules, leave requests, and various other personnel administrative tasks.

- Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related field is preferred.
- This position requires candidates to adhere to DoD 8570.01M. All candidates are required to maintain at least one (1) baseline certification and one (1) computing environment (CE) certification. Baseline certifications cannot also be used as a Computing Environment (CE) certification.

- Experience: One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for one year of experience up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelor's degree in a Software Engineering or Business Information Systems discipline for three years general experience.
- Network Administrator II must have at least five (5) years of experience in a networking environment. Preferably a minimum of at least 1 (one) year in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or higher tier support.
- Experience with a customer service-oriented company.
- SUPERVISORY / BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- At least two years of supervisory or lead experience is preferred.
- Update proprietary applications regarding:
- Update section employee daily status, leave, sick, on site, etc.
- Verify and track accomplishment of section monthly or quarterly safety and compliance training
- Purge section employee expired certifications
- Verify section employee compliance training in Virtual Training Record
- Verify section vehicle logs are being kept accurately and uploaded
- Ensure section personnel are maintaining their 8570 / 8140 certifications
- Review weekly training compliance reports for accomplishment prior to suspense.
- Review and approve leave forms ensuring before approval all compliance training is current.
- Coordinate transportation and integration of new and returning employees.
- Document and promptly counsel poor performance and policy violations.
- Enforce all V2X, GO 1, and dress code policies.
- Provide annual employee appraisal feedback in a professional and constructive manner.
- Demonstrate V2X values Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, and Professionalism.
- Ensure the safety of personnel and monthly safety inspections are properly conducted.
- Communicate effectively up and down the chain of command.
- Manage work schedules.
- Conduct proper new and returning employee orientation and ensure employee thorough understanding and can accomplish all tasks in the Employee Job Certification (EJC)
- Work with employees and HR when emergencies or abnormal circumstances occur.
