Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman is looking for a Public Relations Manager 2 to support communications strategy development and implementation in divisions within Aeronautics systems, Strike programs division. You will guide a team of communicators as they develop and implement strategic communications plans to support business objectives in a dynamic and fast paced environment. You will assist the team to create, deploy, measure, and optimize communications across paid, owned and earned channels. This position is based at Northrop Grumman’s facilities in either Melbourne, Florida or Palmdale, California.

Responsibilities of the Role
- Lead a team of direct report and matrixed individual contributors as they support external and internal communications, shape the Northrop Grumman story and deliver it to the right audiences, in the right way, at the right time to support key business objectives and the brand.
- Partner with Strike Communications director to drive effective workflow management, forecasting project resource needs, assigning projects among the team, and tracking projects through to completion.
- Work closely with Corporate and Sector Communications directors to contribute to (or devise) and manage the implementation of key communication strategies and tactics.
- In coordination with the Communications director, develop communications strategy to promote program and enterprise objectives; identify opportunities, make recommendations and oversee tactical execution to meet objectives; partner with customer counterparts to drive consensus in planning and execution.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of experience in communications, public relations, and/or marketing or master’s degree and 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, and/or marketing.
- Experience collaborating across matrixed teams to execute communications campaigns or projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience as a program communicator, developing and deploying external-facing strategic communications campaigns and measuring business impact.
- Comfort with data; ability to shape and tell a persuasive story from disparate data sources.
- Strong presentation skills and comfort with presenting to audiences at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Experience working in a national security environment and restricted programs.
- This position requires an Active DoD Secret Clearance, with an investigation completed within the last 5 years, as well as ability to obtain a Program Special access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Air Force Public Affairs, or similar DoD function; familiar with strategic messaging, stakeholder management and approval processes within DoD ecosystem.
- Strategic thinking, planning and decision-making.
- Excellent writing, editing and project management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in media relations and media strategy development.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, up, down and across the matrixed organization.
- Ability to effectively and diplomatically drive change.
