The Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, including static equipment, moving ground equipment, and flight vehicles. This responsibility includes everything in the manufacturing value-chain, including, but not limited to, Design for Manufacturability work, tool design & selection, process creation & optimization, vendor sourcing & interaction, quality planning, and work documentation associated with the hardware that the Manufacturing Engineer owns. We are seeking a Coatings Process Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on Low Observable (LO) and survivability coatings. While experience in LO or survivability coatings is preferred, it is not required. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in process optimization to enhance manufacturing capabilities in aerospace applications. The right person for this role can demonstrate past holistic ownership on solving a technical challenge with a creative, physical, solution that they either personally manufacturing or oversaw manufacturing on, in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment. If you are someone who thrives in such an environment, then this role is for you. <h4>WHAT YOU'LL DO</h4> <ul> <li>Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for coatings, including but not limited to, LO and survivability applications.</li> <li>Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure effective integration of coating processes.</li> <li>Utilize metrics and data analysis to identify and address systemic issues within coating processes.</li> <li>Apply first principles thinking to develop innovative solutions that enhance product performance.</li> <li>Work effectively with cross-functional teams to align on project goals and timelines.</li> <li>Facilitate communication between engineering, production, and quality assurance teams.</li> <li>Write documentation required for successfully manufacturing their hardware at scale, such as work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, etc.</li> <li>Work with technicians and other engineers hands-on, building prototype hardware</li> </ul>   <h4>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</h4> <ul> <li>Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science</li> <li>5+ years of experience in coatings manufacturing, preferably in LO/survivability</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver in a resource-constrained environment</li> <li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective work with cross-functional teams.</li> <li>A genuine interest in manufacturing and thirst for learning</li> <li>Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance</li> <li>Ability to travel domestically/internationally, up to 25% of the time</li> </ul> <h4>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</h4> <ul> <li>Experience with LO and survivability coatings is preferred but not required.</li> <li>Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.) Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus.</li> <li>Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance</li> </ul> <div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">US Salary Range</div><div class="pay-range">$128,000—$185,000 USD</div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion">  The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
