Inventory Specialist (Starship Structural Test)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive, store, and issue raw materials, parts, details, and hardware to support shop operations
  • Store parts and materials in bins, drawers, and racks, identifying parts and storage locations
  • Maintain strict material handling practices in accordance with procedures
  • Perform the picking function to make up necessary kits of parts, materials, and hardware as required, ascertaining that all parts are available and accounted for in the kit
  • Verify all materials received for conformity with accompanying paperwork, checking for damage, correct part numbers, quantity, and revisions
  • Issue materials against approved paperwork, such as affixing verification and traceability on required serialized parts before issuing
  • Abide by all procedures, desk instructions, and standard operating documents
  • Monitor shelf-life storage and maintain proper rotation of stock
  • Support the organization's metric goals and objectives
  • Perform good housekeeping chores in the area
  • Perform cycle counts

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of inventory control experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouse
  • Experience operating a forklift and other related inventory equipment
  • Experience and understanding of inventory and kitting processes
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronics fields
  • Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Must be available for overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Stand: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Sit: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Push/Pull: Up to 75 lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
  • Overhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day
  • Walk: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Lift/Carry: Up to 50 lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
  • Climb (ladder/stairs): Up to 1 hour per day
  • Kneel/Crouch: Up to 1 hour per day
  • Upper body twist: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees: Up to 1 hour per day
