Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an Associate RF Electrical Engineer - RF Electrical Engineer I/II in our Chandler, AZ facility.
Team members work in multi discipline integrated product teams (IPTs) on a variety of electrical subsystems and components on the interceptor. As part of the GPI team, you will contribute to the development of a new capability to the war fighter.
The Chandler group performs cradle-to-grave engineering on the majority of their launch vehicles. They are working on approximately 15 separate vehicles at any given time, among them are GPI, Antares, Minotaur, Pegasus, GMD, Sentinel, and many more.
Their products serve a variety of purposes including ISS (International Space Station) cargo resupply, deploying defense satellites, developing missile interceptor technology, and providing much needed target vehicles to better hone our military capability.
This means you can be part of the design, operations planning, ground support development, analysis, testing, integration, launch operations and more. There is plenty to do and learn that will reinforce your existing skillsets while also helping you learn what it takes to get a rocket to lift off and achieve orbit. Our department has a good variety of sub-groups to choose from where you can roll up your sleeves to become an industry expert or opt to pursue a more well-rounded approach while learning a little about everything.
Associate Electrical Engineer or Engineer is required to provide electrical engineering support for common hardware products at Northrop Grumman Space Systems.
- The individual will be responsible for all aspects of product procurement (technical, schedule, cost).
- Typical tasks include releasing formal documents with requirements flow down (specifications & statements of work)
- Reviewing supplier test data, supporting supplier troubleshooting and failure analysis
- Supporting in-house testing and data review, drafting common hardware test pedigrees, performing fault tree analysis
- Performing electrical analysis and simulation
- Processing supplier hardware changes through configuration control board
- Witnessing testing and drafting test reports, supporting LV Program on hardware implementation
- Providing briefings on component failures to engineering review boards, and acting as the primary point of contact for the component supplier.
Critical skills for success in the position are good communication (verbal & written), mentoring, teamwork, troubleshooting, circuit simulation/analysis, and data reduction (MATLAB or Python).

Basic Qualifications Electrical Engineer I
- BS in engineering and 2 Years' Experience or 0 Years Experience and Masters
- Electrical engineering preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security clearance is required
