- Build deep expertise in the manufacturing and acceptance test processes for satellite electrical components.
- Spearhead New Product Introduction (NPI) of PCBA assemblies into production, overseeing equipment qualification, tooling mechanical design, line layout, facility development, process validation on aggressive timelines, and delivering DFM feedback.
- Evaluate non-conforming hardware, lead root cause investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance reliability and reduce defects.
- Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to conceptualize, design, validate, and document integrated test systems, fixtures, racks, and supporting hardware.
- Identify and drive improvements to design, processes, configuration management, safety, and factory layout to optimize yield, performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics or other STEM discipline
- 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, test, or design of electronic products or hardware (internships and project team experience is applicable)
- Master's degree in an engineering, math, or science discipline
- High-volume manufacturing experience (consumer, automotive, or aerospace)
- Experience with environmental testing (HALT/HASS, thermal, vibration, TVAC), functional test plans, reliability engineering, and basic failure analysis tools/methods
- Knowledge of statistical methods (DoE, Six Sigma, OEE) and IPC standards for data-driven process improvements
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (Python, C/C++, SQL, TwinCAT, or similar) and automation
- Experience with CAD/PLM software (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Teamcenter) and drafting standards, GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed schematics, drawings, instructions, and mechanical/fluid/electrical system concepts
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, documentation, configuration management, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to scale products from prototype to high-volume production in fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environments
- Strong adaptability, attention to detail, concentration, and efficiency while rapidly changing roles/responsibilities
- Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed for mission critical deadlines
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
