Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Project Management Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is on a 9/80 work schedule will be located 100% onsite in Rocklin, CA.
The position includes the requirement for business travel, approximately 20% of the time - with periods that could potentially exceed 40% for short durations.
This project manager oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Essential Functions:
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise in military aviation, preferably US Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance operations
- Lead engagement with unit level commanders and deputy commanders at the operational squadron level
- Act as Northrop Grumman lead for managing operational group initiatives across global mission requirements and interests

Basic Qualifications:
Staff Project Management (Level 5):
- Must have Bachelor's with 12 years, Master's with 10 years, or 16 years in lieu of degree in one or more of the following: Project Management, Program Management or Government Program Office Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite
- Experience using SAP, ERP or other related business software application
- Must have an active U.S. government Top Secret Clearance and ability to obtain SCI and Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- The ability to interface with all levels of employee and management
- Sustainment experience (supporting spares & repairs)
- Special Program Access
- Familiarity with US Air Force training programs, including officer, non-commissioned officer and enlisted training
- Familiarity with Geographic Combatant Commands
- Working knowledge of Global Force Management including force development and force offering requirements and processes.
