Data Center Virtualization Engineers support the enterprise virtual infrastructure for all sites within the RCC-SWA Area of Responsibility and provide optimization, administration and technical documentation for the enterprise virtual infrastructure. DCSEs resolve enterprise-level change requests and act as the top-level of support escalation for all enterprise virtualization support issues. Principal technical areas include VMware, NetApp, Cisco UCS, Microsoft Servers and related virtualization, storage, networking, and monitoring technologies.

You must satisfy all host country requirements to legally work in the host country to include but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a host nation visa and host nation driver’s license in order to be qualified for this position.
Responsibilities
- Enterprise-level support for VMware virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi, vCenter, vCOPS, vRealize, and SRM. Top-tier support for escalated issues and complex projects. Daily monitoring of all enterprise virtualization for integrity, reliability, resource utilization and availability. Periodic reports on virtual resource capacity and utilization as well as system uptime, performance, and troubleshooting/MTTR. Log review and issue reporting related to monitoring of temperature and overall virtualization health throughout the RCC-SWA Area of Responsibility (AOR).
- Experienced with configuration and provisioning of VMs, ESXi hosts, and VCSAs. Proficient in the planning, installation, configuration, and upgrades of the virtual network infrastructure. The top-tier of support for virtualization projects and solutions related to backup, disaster recovery, virtual networking, HA, performance monitoring, firmware/software upgrades, and system audit tasks.
- Documentation for Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for configuring and managing the virtual environment including virtual networking, physical hosts, VMs, access control, resource monitoring and management, HA, fault tolerance and scalable virtualization infrastructure.

- Requires an active Secret Clearance
- Education / Certifications: One-year related experience can be substituted for one year of education if the degree is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferably in Computer Science or MIS, IS, Engineering or related field.
- This position requires candidates to adhere to DoD 8570.01M. All candidates are required to maintain at least one (1) baseline certification and one (1) computing environment (CE) certification. Baseline certifications cannot also be used as a Computing Environment (CE) certification.

- Experience: One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for one year of experience up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelor's degree in a Software Engineering or Business Information Systems discipline for three years general experience.
- At least five years of practical experience working with various data (network and system) technologies.
- Candidate must have a working knowledge of server, storage, and desktop virtualization technologies.
- Experience with vSphere client, ESXCLI, and PowerCLI is a must.
- Must have virtualization configuration and administration experience and understands VMware vSphere 6.0 and 6.5 technologies.
- Experienced with Cisco UCS management, C- series, and B-series servers. Experienced with regular virtualization capacity planning and reporting.
- Skills & Technology Used:
- Ability to troubleshoot servers and infrastructure equipment, assess networking requirements and provide solutions, and make accurate and independent decisions under pressure.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment and to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of server, storage, and desktop virtualization technologies.
- Working knowledge with vSphere client, ESXCLI, and PowerCLI.
- Ability to configure and administer VMware vSphere 7.0 +.
- Ability to manage Cisco UCS, C-series, and B-series servers.
- Understands virtualization capacity planning and reporting.
