General Function

Assist our Security Systems Design team on a temporary basis. Support the preparation of technical drawings and layout plans for electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection, and related infrastructure. Temporary based task force to consolidate existing project-based drawings into Site Overall As-Builts.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

Specific Duties:

  • Create and revise 2D AutoCAD drawings for low-voltage security systems based on engineering sketches, mark-ups, and specifications.
  • Draft floor plans showing device placement, wiring paths, and equipment rooms.
  • Assist in preparing cable schedules, riser diagrams, panel layouts, and mounting details.
  • Ensure drawings follow industry standards and client requirements.
  • Maintain organized drawing sets and version control within project folders.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to incorporate revisions and updates.
  • Support administrative tasks such as printing, plotting, and file management as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (academic or internship experience acceptable)
  • Understanding of basic drafting principles and electrical or low-voltage system layouts.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical work.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, or systems plans.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Associate degree, certificate, or coursework in drafting, CAD, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Exposure to or knowledge of security systems (access control, CCTV, intrusion, etc.).
  • Familiarity with construction documents or floor plan layouts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio or other design-related software.
  • Prior internship or work experience in drafting or security systems design.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Creative thinker with attention to detail and a passion for innovation.

Other:

  • Office-based or hybrid (depending on company policy).
  • Standard business hours; some flexibility may be required.
  • May include limited site visits for field verification (if applicable).
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment to include overtime
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to drive clarity from ambiguity and ensure understanding between internal and external customers
  • Must work well with others in a team environment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance
