Job summary

You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER in the Program Management Support PEO(A) Program Division, Systems Acquisition Group, and PMA 261 Support Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. The incumbent provides for effective life cycle management, which includes acquisition, development, testing, production, integration and sustainment support, and financial management for assigned programs. The duty location of this position is Patuxent River, MD.

Major duties

You will be responsible for providing program management support for the assigned programs. You will analyze needs and synthesizes requirements information to develop requirements for program initiatives and plans. You will serve as a key participant in the development of an acquisition strategy that integrates functional activities essential to the acquisition effort and serves as the basis for specific program management documents. You will contribute to the determination of resource needs and allocation of resources (funding, manpower, facilities, etc.) for life-cycle management of the assigned program. You will coordinate program efforts with other activities and personnel directly assigned or detailed to support the program. You will provide advice to higher-level officials on program status and on problems that require resolution or adjustments that are needed in plans and schedules.

Qualification

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing a wide range of technical and business systems, processes, and practices used to manage weapon systems acquisition; 2) Reviewing, analyzing, and implementing higher level procurement policies; 3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives and metrics, and resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources; 4) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; and 5) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command.
