Job summary
You will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in the Fleet Support Team (FST) Logistics Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Major duties
You will delegate authority to supervise, manage, and technically direct logistics processes and resources. You will serve as a supervisor, technical advisor, and spokesperson within a program area to negotiate and collaborate with all levels of officials in the industry concerning their specific aircraft program and policies. You will assist in the development and execute the planning, directing, and prioritizing of activities along with routinely adapting to frequent and unpredictable changes in programs and funds. You will assign and review work on a daily basis to assure that production and accuracy requirements are met as well as recommending performance standards and ratings. You will provide day-to-day administration of the Maintenance Planning products associated with assigned weapon systems and be responsible for its cost, schedule, and performance. You will work closely with leadership to formulate and identify required logistics resources to complete all assigned goals, tasks, and objectives. You will pursue opportunities to improve readiness and reduce operating costs on assigned programs to make additional funds available for modernizing and recapitalizing the inventory of naval aircraft.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Serving as a supervisor, technical advisor, and spokesperson within a program area to negotiate and collaborate with all levels of officials in the industry concerning their specific aircraft program, policies, and procedures to determine the impact/requirements of current and proposed initiatives; (2) Assisting in the development and executing of the planning, directing, and prioritizing activities that include: providing resources and processes to support the intended mission capability, maintaining inherent design capabilities of aircraft systems at the minimum expenditure of resources, and preserving the planning of operational life to achieve readiness goals; (3) Assigning and reviewing work on a daily basis to assure production requirements are met, recommending performance standards/ratings, setting and adjusting short-term and long-term priorities, and giving advice/counsel to employees on both work and administrative matters; (4) Managing aircraft and weapon systems to provide day-to-day administration along with being responsible for the cost, schedule, and performance for these programs/systems; and (5) Briefing senior officials regarding Program Maintenance issues and representing the agency in high level formal and informal focus groups, conferences, or program reviews concerned with the developments and innovations surrounding logistics management.
